About Krysia

Picture
Krysia Gallien was guided to the path of yoga after a spontaneous spiritual opening. Her first teachers in yoga included Tony Crisp, the well-known author of many books on dreamwork and yoga, and other British Wheel of Yoga teachers in England. Through their guidance, Krysia was introduced to a flow style practice including the release of spontaneous body expression and dreamwork as ways of healing the bodymind.

Krysia began teaching in 1975, incorporating a flow style approach with various forms of meditation she studied with the Sufi Order for the next decade. Sufi practices include the wonderful Sufi dancing which weaves together chant and movement in a musical prayer and meditations on the opening of the heart chakra.

Workshops in Esalen style partner massage with its emphasis on healing touch and yoga classes were offered through the Sufi Center during those years by Krysia.

In 1981 she created a private yoga studio in her home in Pointe Claire Village where yoga has been taught ever since. She continued her yoga studies with Sivananda yoga and classical Indian teacher, Madan Bali. In 1984 she certified with RAC , Reflexology Association of Canada, as a reflexologist . She introduced reflexology into her bodywork practice along with Esalen massage. The next few years were spent studying iridology, herbology and naturopathy according to the work of Bernard Jensen and other naturopathic schools. The illuminating system of iridology as a way of cleansing and rebuilding the body was offered as a service through the center for several years by Krysia.

She became interested and trained to become a flower essence practioner, affiliated with the Flower Essence Society in California and the famous Bach Flower Essences in Britain.  Flower essences address emotional and mental healing through a system akin to homeopathy and include spiritual counselling. Flower essence therapy can be an integral part of the healing process, addressing issues of the past, helping to give support as we grow. Known as psychotherapy in a bottle, it supports growth and change during times of crisis and transition. Flower essence counselling has become an important healing modality at the Center.

She is certified with American Polarity Therapy Association since 1990 as a fully accredited Polarity Therapist. Her training background includes postgraduate training with author of Polarity Therapy and past president of the Polarity Association , Alan Siegel as well as courses interfacing polarity therapy with cranial sacral work with author of The Polarity Process, Franklyn Sills. This represents over a thousand hours of training. Of course, all of these aspects of knowledge make a truly holistic approach possible.

Krysia is active as an educator as well as a therapist. In the nineties, she gave a number of trainings in reflexology, Esalen style massage and aromatherapy. She also introduced a course in Holistic Health through adult education to the general public, which she taught for about five years in the West Island. She gave the next five years, in the 90's to training other polarity therapists, both privately and through Health Training Group.

She is accredited as a massage practitioner and polarity therapist with FQMM, the Massage Federation of Quebec since the 1990's .Insurance receipts for all services are available upon request.

Krysia has developed a unique system of aromatherapy massage based on the international model and a complete line of essential oil blends for home use, including the chakra oil kit for therapists and self healing. Krysia's essential oil line is known as Life Essence Creations. To order Chakra oils , go to the retail store button and read more under aromatherapy articles.

Through the teachings of Dhyani Ywahoo, Krysia has lived spiritual aspects of the Native American model, including shamanism. She continues to work with many shamanic teachers like Michael Harner and native elders like Carl Big Heart. These explorations over more than a decade have led to the creation of her own workshops on the medicine wheel teachings, shamanic journeying and trance dance

In the new millenium she explored healing through giving workshops in yoga trance dance , and in Mandala art. These workshops allow students to find a very personal connection to their inherent creativity and self-expression. .

Krysia's work with shamanism has more recently led her into the field of hypnotherapy . She is  certified with the Canadian Institute of Hypnotism in hypnosis with adults and with children. Through visualization, affirmation and suggestion we affirm change and create it.

These past few years Creative Being has become an art studio  as Krysia explores her own creative process through watercolour. " Weaving together creativity and wellness, we create wholeness". Visit the studio by appointment and sign up for invitations to vernissage events.

Krysia teaches flow style  yoga from her home based sanctuary, Creative Being Studio.
